Limitations of this tool
One of our guiding values at Travelbetter is to be honest, and this includes being very clear about what are tools can and cannot do. Therefore, here are some of the tools limitations you should be aware of.
You can't book a ferry on this tool
This tool is designed to help you find the perfect ferry route and operator combination to meet your individual families needs. It is an advice tool, it is not booking tool. Therefore, you will not be able to book your ferry from this site and will still need to complete that process with the ferry operator. However, the tool will have helped you find the best choice for your needs to you do not need to spend a lot of time on the opertors website and can staight to booking what you need.
We can't provide ferry availablity
While it is firmly on our development list, at this time we cannot confirm availability of space and cabins on each route. You will only be able to find this when you click through to the ferry operator. As I say, this is on our list but requires learning some new technologies and additional cost so we are unable to progress this feature at this time.
Version
🚧 This is a first version! We're improving based on your feedback.
Right now you can browse ferry routes and see the operators who run them. We'll be adding search and filters soon!
🧠Note: Some “Book Now” buttons and "Ferry Operator" links use affiliate links, which means we may earn a small commission if you use the link or button and then make a booking. This helps fund Travelbetter at no extra cost to you.
We only link to ferry operators and routes we genuinely believe are helpful for quiet, anxious and neurodiverse travellers. Your trust comes first.
Frequently Asked Questions
What happens if the ferry is full?
You may be offered the next available sailing, but this depends on the operator and your ticket type. Flexible tickets give you more options, but availability still matters.
Can I change my ticket on the same day?
Some operators allow last-minute changes with flexible tickets, while others need more notice. Always check the terms at the time of booking.
What’s the difference between standard and flexible tickets?
Standard tickets are cheaper but less flexible. If your plans change, you may face high amendment or cancellation fees. Flexible tickets cost a bit more but allow changes or cancellations with fewer penalties.
