How this Calories Per Grams Calculator Works

Here is the maths behind the calculation:

Step 1: The tool calculates the calories per 1 gram of the food. It does this by taking the calorie value entered (taken from the nutrition label) and then dividing it by the number of grams shown on the same nutrition label.

Example, the nutrition label says that for 100 grams of the food it is 225 calories. Therefore, the calculation is 225/100 which equals 2.25 calories per gram.

Step 2: The tool calculates the calories eaten by taking the grams value of the food eaten and multiplying it by the calories per gram value.

Example, You have eaten 300 grams of the food and the calories per gram is 2.25 (as per the example above). Therefore, the calculation is 300*2.25 which equals 675 calories consumed.
